Student privacy

Colleges hear from you only when you say so.

Loper is a free app for exploring colleges, majors, and careers. Here's how student data works, in plain language. The full details are in our privacy policy.

When you create an account, Loper asks you directly: "Share my data with educational institutions." Only if you say yes do we share your profile, interests, and preferences with colleges and other educational partners. It's off unless you turn it on, and you can change your answer anytime in the app's settings.

Why we ask.

Colleges where you'd be a good fit can send you information that matches your interests and circumstances. We believe that helps you make a more informed decision, and makes you more likely to be happy where you end up.

What we collect.

What you tell us when you sign up and use the app, like your name, email, college preferences, and career interests.

For parents.

Loper is built for high school students and adult learners. It is not meant for children under 13. If your child adds your contact information, we may contact you about programs from our educational partners. You can opt out of that outreach at any time. We encourage you to use Loper with your child, and if you'd like to create your own account, you can select that you're a parent during onboarding.

Your choices.

Update your profile anytime in the app. To get a copy of your data or have it deleted, email [email protected].

The full policy.

Our privacy policy covers what we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.
